SmartXide dot therapy purposely creates little damaged areas and does so by using a CO2 fractional laser with a dot pattern to produce hundreds of microscopic perforations in the area being treated. The tissue outside of the dot pattern is left intact and untouched. The damage produced by procedure causes the body to start the healing process, which triggers new collagen to develop at the treatment site. Collagen is one of two proteins naturally made by the body that give the skin its fullness and firmness. By generating collagen, the skin is plumper, tighter and more toned.
