Lipodissolve is a short, 30-45 minute procedure that uses a series of chemical injections to melt away small, localized areas of fat in the: ·

The main ingredients used are deoxycholate (a bile derivative) and phosphatidylcholine (a soybean extract), but other substances like vitamins, minerals, plant extracts, caffeine and lidocaine may be added.

Once the contents of the injections break down the fat, the body dispels of it over a period of a few weeks. For this, patients should be aware that the results are gradual (in some cases taking a few weeks to a few months) and that multiple sessions (up to four) are typically necessary. The highest fat loss usually occurs in the waist, with the lowest fat loss occurring in the legs.

The treated area should become flat and tight over time, though results vary depending on the size and area being treated. Lipodissolve is not a permanent fat reduction solution. If the patient gains weight, the fat will return. For best results, it is best that the individual make dietary changes and maintain physical activity.

During the procedure, the patient may experience mild pain during the injections. Following the procedure, some patients complain of swelling, mild bruising, tenderness and a burning sensation at the site of injection. These symptoms usually dissipate within a week.
