The Fraxel re:store procedure begins with the application of a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment area. Once the area is numb, a hand piece will be used to deliver a highly focused beam of energy into the area to be treated, in a procedure which takes about a half an hour to perform in most individuals. You may need from three to five treatments, given at two- to four-week intervals, for satisfactory results.
The Fraxel re:store laser system is designed to treat a number of conditions, including age spots and other discoloration, sun damage, scarring, wrinkles, and other texture issues, as well as offering an overall rejuvenated appearance.
The Fraxel re:store laser delivers its energy to tiny areas of the treatment zone, reducing or eliminating damage while also minimizing the discomfort and downtime involved in the procedure. Because re:store penetrates deeply into the tissues, more pronounced wrinkling can be treated, as well as more superficial damage.
Recovery time is minimal with the Fraxel re:store procedure, and most individuals can go back to their normal routines right after the procedure. Some men and women may notice some redness and swelling for 24 to 48 hours after the treatment. You will see initial results immediately following treatment with re:store, but optimal results will continue to develop as new collagen forms and damage continues to fade over time.
The cost of your Fraxel re:store procedure will vary, based on the extent of your treatment, but usually ranges from $800 to $1200.
