How long on average do the results last?
That depends. On average your results last 1-3 years. However, this will depend on numerous factors. In general, if you want to make your results last the longest then:
1. Do not smoke
2. Avoid as much sunlight as possible. Sunscreen is a must. Use a comprehensive sunscreen to block both UVA and UVB sunlight. A SPF 15 for daily use is ok. Any more sunshine then use a SPF 30. Remember, SPF is a measure of UVB protection. For UVA protection, look for ingredients that contain titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, or mexoryl.
3. A Daily skin care program. They should include Vitamin C, retinoic Acid if tolerated, growth factors, polypeptides, some exfoliating product such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid, etc.
4. Consider hormone therapy if you in menopause/andropause. Hormones affect the collagen production in your skin. This would of course be only under the direct supervision of licensed physician specializing in Anti-aging medicine or hormone therapy.
5. Control stress
6. Avoid excessive ETOH, caffeine
7. Moderate exercise 4-5 times per week - yes exercise indirectly affects the skin.
8. Good sleep - allows your skin to repair, growth hormone is made only during the night
9. Good amount of water.

I think the results of Fraxel lasts several years. You will improve the longevity of your treatment by starting an anti aging skin regimen after you finish your series.
